Former supermodel is a draw to many markets
NEW YORK — Warner Bros. Domestic TV has sold “The Tyra Banks Show,” a proposed five-a-week syndicated talk hour for fall 2005, to its first four TV stations, moving the series closer to a production greenlight.
The four committing to “Tyra” are KMGH Denver, KGTV San Diego, KHQ Spokane and KGW Portland, Ore.
Distributor is negotiating for “Tyra” deals with Disney, Viacom and Tribune Broadcasting, all of whom own TV stations in New York, L.A. and Chicago, as well as outlets in many other markets. If Warner Bros. can clinch one of those deals for “Tyra,” the series will be a definite go.
Banks, a former supermodel, hosts the UPN primetime series “America’s Next Top Model.” Producers of her syndicated show are Bankable Prods., Handprint Entertainment and Telepictures Prods.
