TV Guide loses its editor

Lavafore ankles post after less than 2 years

Michael Lafavore has ankled as TV Guide’s editor-in-chief less than 15 months after he was brought in to redesign the magazine.

TV Guide Group prexy John P. Loughlin said in a statement that Lafavore had overseen the magazine’s “most significant editorial changes of the past 10 years (and) has moved us significantly down the path in our turnaround efforts.”

One of the country’s most widely circulated mags, the Gemstar TV Guide-owned title has seen its readership erode in recent years.

Loughlin said the senior editorial team will run the publication until a replacement is named. A search for Lafavore’s replacement will be launched immediately.
