Company's 'thrill ride' includes expansion

Svensk Filmindustri celebrated its 85th anni and parent company Bonnier’s 200th in grand style at swank Cap d’Antibes restaurant Les Pecheurs Sunday night. Bonnier chairman Carl-Johan Bonnier and Svensk’s Rasmus Ramstad and Peter Fornstam got the party started by rallying guests to join them in downing a shot — or two — of Absolut Vodka.

Stating the obvious, Bonnier said, “We’re long-term players.”

“The last five years have been a thrill ride,” added Ramstad, who also celebrated Svensk’s 80th in Cannes in 2000 and has seen the Swedish studio expand significantly in the interim.

Among the revelers at the exclusive black-tie affair were Fox’s Jim Gianopulos; New Line’s Bob Shaye, Michael Lynne and Rolf Mittweg; Summit’s Patrick Wachsberger; Norwegian helmer Harald Zwart; Myriad’s Kirk D’Amico; GreenStreet’s Cedric Jeanson; AFMA chair Michael Ryan and producers Saul Zaentz, Ted Hope, Anne Carey and Nik Powell.
