Revelers who weren’t completely turned off after watching Morgan Spurlock’s health deteriorate under a McDonald’s diet in “Super Size Me” could nosh on mini-burgers at the Lotus bash following the docu’s Tuesday night bow. In a nod to the personal choice credo espoused by the fast-food industry, those more inclined for healthy fare could opt for leafy green veggies.
Spurlock, who won director kudos at Sundance, said he knew he had to be willing to serve as a human guinea pig.
“From the very beginning, I knew I couldn’t ask somebody to do something I wouldn’t be willing to do,” the helmer said. “The other fear was that when the cameras weren’t rolling, that person would be in the closet sneaking broccoli.”
Among the guests were noted vegan Moby and IDP’s Michael Silberman.
