Shemar Moore (“Birds of Prey,” “The Young and the Restless”) has been added to the cast of Lions Gate Prods.’ “The Diary of a Mad Black Woman.”
Filming begins Wednesday in Atlanta on the project, an adaptation of the play by Tyler Perry.
Moore joins Perry, who will star in, write and produce the pic; Darren Grant directs.
Cicely Tyson, Steve Harris and Kimberly Elise also star in the pic, about a woman (Elise) who is surprised to find, on the eve of her 20th wedding anniversary, that her husband wants to divorce her and marry her best friend.
Moore will play Orlando, a construction worker who becomes her love interest after she is kicked to the curb by her husband.
Moore’s feature credits include “The Brothers” and upcoming feature “The Seat Filler.”
