Ryan Merriman (Sci Fi Channel miniseries “Taken”) has landed a role in “The Ring 2.”

The DreamWorks sequel, starring Naomi Watts, David Dorfman, Simon Baker, Sissy Spacek and “Everwood’s” Emily VanCamp, will begin lensing today. Pic will shoot in Oregon and Los Angeles under the direction of Japanese helmer Hideo Nakata.

Merriman, who last year inked a talent holding deal with the WB, most recently starred on the ABC series “Veritas.” On the bigscreen, he played Michelle Pfeiffer’s kidnapped son in “The Deep End of the Ocean” and stars with Stanley Tucci and Dana Delany in the family drama “Spin.”
