Raising hopes and funds for MS groups

QVC fundraiser increases awareness

Rain Pryor has a very personal reason to attend QVC’s seventh annual Cure by the Shore fund-raiser in Malibu Saturday her father, Richard Pryor, has multiple sclerosis.

The thesp, who has weathered her own MS scare, was optimistic that a cure for the disease will eventually be found.

“I am very hopeful,” Rain said. “That’s the thing with MS, there has to be a sense of hope.”

Also on hand: Selma Blair (who talked about the importance of celebs supporting charity orgs), Jackie Collins, Bill Pullman, Frances Fisher, Holly Robinson-Peete, Henry Winkler and Gary Busey. Funds benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis.
