‘Pride’s’ den on Sky One

Net purchases all U.K. TV rights

LONDON — NBC’s ill-fated DreamWorks’ CGI toon “Father of the Pride” will get a new lease of life on Sky One, British satcaster BSkyB’s flagship entertainment channel.

Net has purchased all U.K. TV rights to the comedy, which NBC recently cancelled after it failed to draw auds despite critical approval.

“Father of the Pride” will bow on Sky One in the new year.

Sky One head of acquisitions, drama and comedy David Smyth brokered the deal with Lisa Kramer from DreamWorks Worldwide Distribution department.

Deal is another sign of the web’s determination to broaden its appeal following new investment announced by CEO James Murdoch.
