Exec to handle signature franchises, worldwide brands
In what marks a major promotion to the corporate ranks of Warner Bros., Diane Nelson has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president of global brand management for Warner Bros. Entertainment.
The new post elevates Nelson from her former post as executive VP of domestic marketing and will see Nelson report directly to Alan Horn, president and chief operating officer of Warner Bros. Entertainment, to strategize across all divisions to handle the studio’s growing number of signature franchises, worldwide brands and event properties.
Nelson and her team will serve as cross-company brand managers for such properties as “Harry Potter,” ‘Batman Begins,” “Superman,” “The Polar Express,” “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory” and “Happy Feet” among other film, TV, home video/DVD, vidgame and consumer products properties.
“We created this position to support our overall event and brand strategies, as well as to proactively address fundamental changes in the marketplace,” said Barry Meyer, chairman and chief executive officer of Warner Bros. Entertainment.
