Reality vet Bruce Nash, “American Idol” producer Fremantle Media and MTV are going the dating and makeover route this summer.
Cabler has partnered with Nash (“For Love or Money”) on the hybrid dating/makeover show “Wanna Come Inside?” for summer. Fremantle, meanwhile, is set to produce “Your Face or Mine?”; gamer forces contestants to guess how other people would rate their looks.
MTV has ordered 20 episodes of “Inside,” which challenges a pair of studs to make over two duds, who are subsequently sent out on blind dates. The stud whose dud is invited “inside” by his date wins. MTV will bow the half-hour series July 12.
“Most guys are not good with the ladies, so we’re going to help them out. The second half of the show will be the competition where these guys are going head to head,” Nash said. “I can’t wait to start working with MTV on what I hope is just the first of many projects.”
Nash is also working with comicbook titan Stan Lee on the tentatively titled reality show “Who Wants to Be A Superhero?” currently in development at the music channel.
MTV has also greenlit Fremantle’s studio-based gameshow “Your Face or Mine,” in which participants predict what auds think of their appearance when judged against that of celebrities, friends and strangers. Show preems June 14.
Fresh episodes of “Room Raiders,” “Boiling Points” and the musicvid blocks “MTV Hits,” “Direct Effect” and “TRL” will augment the rest of the cabler’s summer sked, which kicks off May 31.
Nash’s credits include the adventure/dating skein “Outback Jack” for TBS, “Meet My Folks” for NBC and “Mr. Personality” for Fox.
