MILAN — Italy’s biggest multiplex, and the first in Milan, opened Friday.
The 5,500-seat 18-plex was launched by Swiss plex player Europlex and Italian real estate company Pirelli.
Plex is located in a former industrial area being converted into a 320,000-square-foot entertainment complex that will include restaurants, shopping malls and fitness centers when it opens next year.
Europlex CEO Gavin Chittick said the Swiss company had invested E6 million ($7.94 million) in the Italo theater.
Europlex already operates three multiplexes in Italy, two in the North and one in Arezzo, near Florence.
