CBS exec Laverne McKinnon continues to move up the Eye ranks, scoring a promotion to senior VP of drama development at the web.
McKinnon previously served as VP of drama development, a post she held since May 2001. Exec will continue to report to Nina Tassler, exec VP of drama at CBS Entertainment.
“Laverne has been instrumental in the development of many of CBS’ most successful dramas,” Tassler said. “She has terrific instincts when it comes to what makes a good drama, which has translated into critical and ratings successes.”
McKinnon has helped develop CBS dramas including “Cold Case,” “Joan of Arcadia” and “CSI: Miami.”
Exec originally joined CBS as director of children’s programs in 1996. She later moved to the current programming department as director before jumping to the drama development side in May 2000 as director.
McKinnon moved to CBS from Klasky Csupo, where she was VP of creative affairs, handling development and sale of TV and feature projects for the production shingle.
