‘Ladykillers’ shindig rolls a seven

Cannes event features Brown singing perf

A private beach club in the heart of Juan les Pins was the relaxed and upscale setting for Buena Vista Intl.’s Cannes soiree for the Coen brothers remake of “The Ladykillers.”

Tom Hanks, with wife Rita Wilson, and Roger Moore were on hand as were Joel Coen, Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group prexy Nina Jacobson, U.K. chief Daniel Battsek and Armyan Bernstein. Guests were given “Ladykillers” dollars to gamble in the casino. But the highlight of the night was a performance from Jocelyn Brown, who rocked the crowd with such hits as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Somebody Else’s Guy.”
