UIP’s London-based marketing chief Tomas Jegeus is heading for the exit — and maybe a plum post at Fox Intl. in L.A.
The exec has told his bosses he won’t renew his contract, which expires in January.
However, Jegeus, an old Fox hand, has told friends he’s keen to work in Hollywood.
Fox has tried several times to persuade Jegeus to take Fox Intl.’s top marketing spot, which has been vacant since Scott Neeson defected to Sony last August.
Jegeus was Fox’s Hong Kong-based Asia/Pacific marketing VP before he was lured to UIP in early 2002. Before that he served with Fox in the U.K. and with Columbia TriStar in his native Sweden.
Neither Jegeus nor Fox Intl. execs were available for comment.
