The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees said it has negotiated a contract for the crew of “The Celestine Prophecy,” covering nearly 70 employees.
IATSE said it organized the film, produced by Barnet Bain Films and Celestine Films, during the second week of production in St. Augustine, Fla., by obtaining authorization cards from the majority of the crew, making a demand for recognition from the producers and setting a strike deadline.
The union said the contract provided for wage and benefit increases which were applied retroactively to each employee’s initial date of hire. It said the additional wages and benefits amounted to between $425,000 and $500,000.
