GSN has tapped Lou Fazio VP of scheduling/acquisitions, a newly created position.
Previously exec director of programming and acquisitions for Toon Disney and ABC Kids, Fazio will head all GSN planning aspects, including acquired programming, analysis and budget planning and programming schedules.
“Lou will bring his years of scheduling and acquisitions experience to bear on our ongoing repositioning of GSN,” said senior VP of programming Ian Valentine.
Fazio oversaw all planning and scheduling for Toon Disney and the Saturday morning children’s programming on ABC in his previous post. He previously worked in media planning for the network and acted as a liaison among all divisions within the Mouse House’s cable group.
Exec will continue his work in acquisitions for GSN, which recently acquired the rights to such broadcast skeins as “Next Action Star,” “Average Joe,” “Dog Eat Dog” and “Star Search.”
Before his position with Toon Disney and ABC Kids, Fazio worked in the programming departments of ABC Cable Networks, USA and Sci Fi Channel.
