Fox News ups Kranz to CFO

Exec replaces Abernethy at the helm

NEW YORK — Fox News has promoted Mark Kranz to chief financial officer, reporting to chairman-CEO Roger Ailes.

Kranz replaces Jack Abernethy, who has taken the helm of Fox’s group of 35 broadcast stations.

“Mark has played a key role in helping the network achieve outstanding growth and profitability,” Ailes said.

Prior to his promotion, Kranz was VP of finance for Fox News. He joined Fox as finance director in 1997.

Before that, Kranz held a variety of financial positions at Viacom starting in 1985. He served as veep of finance and business development in 1994.
