Fox has upped Jonathan Davis Jr. to director of alternative programming and latenight development.
Davis will work on both scripted and unscripted projects for Fox’s reality and latenight division. He’ll report to Fox exec VP Mike Darnell, who announced the promotion Thursday.
With Fox’s reality output on the rise over the past few years, Darnell said Davis had become a key resource, citing the exec’s “sense of humor (and) his ability to spot inspired ideas.”
Davis had been manager of alternative/latenight since 2002. He’s worked on Fox reality hits “The Simple Life” and “Paradise Hotel.”
Up next for him: assisting Darnell with development of “Branson’s Big Adventure,” the Richard Branson reality skein set to bow next season (Daily Variety, April 1).
