The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees has signed a contract with the producers of “Drop Dead Sexy” to cover the below-the-line employees working on the low-budget comedy shooting in Austin, Texas.
Deal was reached following a two-day strike. Union said the pic, produced by Drop Dead Sexy LP on a $1.5 million budget, falls under the IATSE Low Budget Agreement.
The union said international representative Jamie Fry spearheaded the organizing efforts along with Ken Rector of IATSE Local 484 and John Hilsman of IATSE Local 600. Terms include health and pension benefits retroactive to the first day of principal photography and a $100 one-time bonus for returning employees.
IATSE said approximately 38 workers are covered under the agreement.
