‘Early Show’ looks for More women

Skein teams with mag to help ratings

NEW YORK — CBS News’ “The Early Show” will produce a series of segments with More magazine in a bid to boost the ayemcast’s numbers among adult women.

Segments will highlight a feature in More magazine addressing lifestyle issues for women 40 and over. More editor Peggy Northrop and “Early Show” anchor Rene Syler will host.

“More’s readership mirrors one of the key demographics of morning television, women 25-54, and these segments will offer expert advice and tips on issues that are important to our audience,” said “Early Show” senior executive producer Michael Bass.

Launched in 1998, Meredith Corp.’s More has a circulation of 1 million.

During the November sweep, “The Early Show” boosted its women 25-54 demo rating by 15%, to a 1.5 rating from a 1.3 the year before.

Overall in the November sweep, “Early” scored a 1.1 rating among adults 25-54, compared with a 2.5 rating for NBC’s “Today” and 2.0 for ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
