NEW YORK — Discovery Health Channel has signed sex-talk maven Dr. Drew Pinsky to host weekly hourlong primetime series “Strictly Sex With Dr. Drew.”
Slated to kick off in the second quarter, “Strictly Sex” will “offer uninhibited discussion about a variety of sex topics,” said Eileen O’Neill, senior VP and general manager of Discovery Health.
Pinsky has a long-running syndicated radio show about sex in which he takes listener phone calls; Westwood One distributes the program. From 1996-2000, Pinsky and co-host Adam Corolla presided over “Loveline,” a TV version of the radio show, for MTV.
The author of “Cracked: Putting Broken Lives Together Again,” Pinsky is assistant clinical professor of psychiatry for the Keck School of Medicine at USC.
Pinsky will be a co-executive producer of “Strictly Sex” with Steve Lange and Claire Vande Polder. The producer is Weller Grossman.
