Star sees sci-fi's synergy as 'surreal'
HOLLYWOOD — It was all about Vin Diesel at the Universal CityWalk/Amphitheater premiere of “The Chronicles of Riddick” Thursday night.
Thesp was seen holding up his own action figure a few times as he walked along the red carpet.
“Two words: Twilight Zone. It’s surreal,” said Diesel, who as producer had no small part in getting the film to the bigscreen.
Helmer David Twohy saw the distinct differences between the sequel and the much smaller original “Pitch Black,” which he also helmed and scripted. “We were the third largest city in Canada in terms of electrical supply!”
In true synergistic fashion, many celebs (an intense Michelle Rodriguez among them) gathered in the VIP section to play the “Riddick” videogame. Others milling about the concourse included U’s Scott Stuber, the pic’s Keith David, Yorick van Wageningen and Karl Urban, producer Scott Kroopf , Snoop Dogg, Dennis Haysbert and Christina Milian.
