Stop-motion classic kiddie skein returns to tube

Hallmark Channel is bringing “Davey and Goliath” back to television in the form of a one-hour Christmas special.

“Davey and Goliath’s Snowboard Christmas,” which bows Dec. 19 on the cabler, reps the first new production of the series in 30 years.

Stop-motion animated series was developed by the Lutheran Church, and aired 65 episodes between 1960 and 1975. Show centers on the adventures of a little boy named Davey and his dog Goliath.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America exec produced the hour from Premavision.
