NEW YORK — Buena Vista TV’s daily talk/variety hour “The Tony Danza Show,” which premieres in domestic syndication this fall, has signed veteran John Redmann as executive producer.
Redmann’s most recent gig as exec producer was a two-year stint with syndicated talk/variety hour “The Wayne Brady Show,” also produced and distributed by Buena Vista, which cancelled it earlier this year because of subpar ratings.
Before “Brady,” Redmann was a supervising producer of “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.” Redmann’s expertise is running light, celebrity-driven syndicated talkshows, and Danza will work within those boundaries.
Redmann’s a five-time Emmy winner, having won four for “Rosie” and one with “Wayne.” Other credits include Leeza Gibbons’, Keenan Ivory Wayans’ and Queen Latifah’s talk shows.
Buena Vista said that it has already sold the Danza show to TV stations representing more than 85% of the country. Show will originate in New York.
