Prexy joins honorees Fontana, Strangis

Fox Entertainment prexy Gail Berman has been named executive of the year by the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers & Directors.

Berman will be feted at the org’s annual gala Jan. 13 along with this year’s previously announced honorees, writer-producers Tom Fontana and Greg Strangis.

Exec is the firstseries producer to land the top programming job at Fox. She oversees all of the network’s development, programming and scheduling as well as marketing, business affairs and promotions.

She previously was president of Regency TV, where she developed “Malcolm in the Middle” and exec produced “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel.” Before that, she was prexy-CEO of Sandollar TV, where she exec produced “All American Girl” and “Someone Like Me.”
