Vanessa Ferlito – ‘CSI: NY’

Why should we watch your show?

“The cast. They don’t get much better than Gary Sinise. This is going to be different than other ‘CSIs.’ They’re going to get deeper and more personal with the characters. The stories unique and interesting.”

What have we seen you in before?

” ‘Undefeated,’ ’24,’ a small part in ’25th Hour,’ ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Spider-Man 2.’ I also did an indie called ‘Online.’ ”

What in the past are you most proud of?

“I can’t say one where I’m proud of one yet. I’m so interested in seeing what my upcoming movies (“Cheer Up,” “The Tollbooth”) other movies are going to be like. I love doing all of them. I’ve played a bunch of different roles — Latin, Italian, all-American, Southern — and been doing a bunch of different accents so far.”

How do you plan to utilize your newfound celebrity?

“I don’t see myself as famous. I’m still the girl who when people are looking at me, I’m thinking, ‘What are they looking at?’ I think about how I’m gonna be in 27 million or so houses each week, and that’s a gift.”

What were your favorite shows growing up?

“When I was little I loved ‘Laverne and Shirley.’ ”

Whose career would you most like to emulate?

“I don’t know. I admire a lot of actors for their choices, but I sort of just want my own. I don’t want to be like anybody.”
