MTV launches local versions in four Nordic territories

LONDON — Nordic auds will get their own local versions of MTV as the company prepares to launch different channels for Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland in 2005.

The channels’ play-lists will be tailored to reflect the local music scene and will promote new bands from that country. Programs will also be subtitled in the native language, will be hosted by local VJs and will local blurbs and promos.

“We are committed to localizing content, style and tone in all our territories around the world,” commented president and CEO of MTV Networks Europe Brent Hansen.
