Honors given to 30 categories in 5 music subgenres

MIAMI — Univision announced the nominees for its 17th annual “Premios lo Nuestro de la Musica.”

The kudofest is one of Univision’s top rated programs every year. The show will air live 8-11 p.m. Feb. 24 on Univision.

Awards are given out in 30 categories in five Latin music subgenres: pop, tropical, regional Mexican, rock, and urban, plus video of the year. Nominees were selected from charts compiled from Oct. 1, 2003, to Sept. 30, 2004, by the magazine Radio & Records.

Marc Anthony and Victor Manuelle led the pack with five nominations each.

Mexican popster Paulina Rubio, banda group Montez de Durango, merengeros Los Toros Band, and salsero Rey Ruiz follow with four nods apiece.
