George Lopez will make an encore appearance as the host of the fifth annual Latin Grammy Awards telecast.
Show will be held Sept. 1 at the Shrine Auditorium and broadcast on CBS.
“George’s ability to host last year’s Latin show with the perfect blend of his own style, attitude and hilarity helped make the show one of the highest rated in its history,” said Gabriel Abaroa, president of the Latin Recording Academy. “We can’t wait to see what he has in store for our diverse audience.”
Co-creator, writer, producer and star of ABC’s “George Lopez,” Lopez recently went on a 30-city comedy tour and this month begins work on a Christmas movie for ABC. Last year, he hosted the Latin Grammy ceremony in Miami.
Nominations for the fifth annual Latin Grammys will be announced July 14. Carlos Santana will receive the Latin Recording Academy’s person of the year honor.
