Latin Grammys set for Sept. 1

Nominees to be unveiled July 14

MIAMI — The fifth annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place Sept. 1 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. It will air live on CBS from 8-10 p.m. and be broadcast in about another 100 countries.

The Latin Recording Academy will unveil nominees July 14.

Kudocast was held for the first time in Miami last year, and the city, home to the Latin divisions of all of the major record labels, had been angling to hang onto the ceremony.

In its fifth year, the Latin Grammys has added two new categories — best singer-songwriter album and Christian album (Portuguese Language) — for a total of 43 awards.
