Gay Men’s Chorus taps Sims

Departing Wyatt to focus on new company

Hywel W. Sims has been named executive director of Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles.

Sims, originally from Wales, has played a leadership role in many local HIV agencies, including Chris Brownlie Hospice and Common Ground. During the 1990s, he was also active as a donor, board member and even (briefly) as a singing member with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles.

Over the past five years, Sims has been working in London and San Francisco.

He succeeds Brian J. Wyatt, who will focus on his new company, Artist Business Services.
