HOLLYWOOD — “Wicked” cast its spell on the Drama Desk Awards Sunday, collecting the nod for new musical at the 49th annual kudos.

Doug Wright’s “I Am My Own Wife” was named top new play at the Gotham awards ceremony, which honored works from the 2003-04 season.

Hugh Jackman and Kevin Kline won the lead actor prizes in the musical and play categories, respectively, for “The Boy From Oz” and the Lincoln Center Theater’s revival of Shakespeare’s “Henry IV.”

Actress in a musical award went to Donna Murphy for her perf in the tuner “Wonderful Town”; the actress in a play nod was split by Viola Davis for “Intimate Apparel” and Phylicia Rashad for “A Raisin in the Sun.”

With six trophies, “Wicked” was the evening’s biggest winner, followed by the musical “Assassins” and “Henry IV,” which nabbed four and three nods, respectively.

Also garnering multiple awards were “The Boy From Oz,” “Wonderful Town,” “A Raisin in the Sun” and “I Am My Own Wife.”

The Drama Desk Awards are voted by writers, critics and editors who cover Gotham theater.
