AMSTERDAM — Joop Van Den Ende’s Stage Holding has signed an agreement that will allow it to produce future foreign-language productions of the musical “Mamma Mia!” in some 10 countries with the musical’s creator, Littlestar.
The deal is a major coup for Stage Holding which currently operates in four European territories: Holland, Germany, Spain and the UK.
” ‘Mamma Mia!’ is just the sort of content we need to roll out to the other European territories we have been hoping to enter,” said international exec producer Robin de Levita.
The pact gives Stage Holding the right to present any future foreign-lingo productions of the 5-year-old smash hit musical in Russia, Italy, France, Portugal, Hungary, Greece, Poland, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Turkey over the next 10 years.
Littlestar is the company formed by producer Judy Craymer together with Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Richard East to present the stage musical.
