Frank Scheck has replaced Donald Lyons as second-string theater critic for the New York Post.
Lyons said he had “retired” from the position, which he has held for five years. Prior to the Post, he wrote theater reviews for the Wall Street Journal and the New Criterion. Lyons said he was at work on an article, “not theater related,” for the quarterly magazine.
Scheck said he would continue in his job as theater critic for the Hollywood Reporter, reviewing Broadway shows. At the Post, he will cover the Off Broadway scene.
Clive Barnes continues as the Post’s first-string theater critic.
