One-act play competish ends in three-way tie

Bayshore Award goes to all three finalists

HOLLYWOOD — In an unusual conclusion to a contest, the three finalists in First Stage Theater’s one-act play competition all came out winners.

All judges rated the three works equally, so First Stage awarded each playwright its Irene Bayshore Award.

Competing works were Albi Gorn’s “Verbatim,” Sara Cody’s “Dualities” and Steven Schutzman’s “Tree Man.”

Judges were George Pennacchio, Richard Stayton, Desa Philadelphia, Steven Leigh Morris, Judi Ann Mason, David Rambo, Gary Gardner and Mark W. Lee.
