NEW YORK — Send in the clowns: “Slava’s Snowshow” will get its Gotham premiere Sept. 8 at the Union Square Theater. Previews will begin Aug. 24. Producers are David J. Foster and Ross Mollison, by arrangement with Slava and Gwenael Allen.
Meanwhile, A.R. Gurney’s warmly received comedy “Mrs. Farnsworth” returns to the Flea Theater July 28-Sept. 4, with Leslie Lyles and Gerry Bamman replacing original leads Sigourney Weaver and John Lithgow.
Another Off Broadway production, Basil Twist’s “Symphonie Fantastique,” returns to New York as the inaugural production at the new Dodger Stages. Previews begin Aug. 31. The aquatic extravaganza used a 500-gallon water tank for its premiere at Here in 1998. This time, “Symphonie Fantastique” will be performed in a 1,000-gallon tank.
Also returning to Off Broadway, and moving to Dodger Stages is “Bare: A Pop Opera.” The production opens Sept. 22.
