Producer Stuart hopes to mount musical by late summer

LAS VEGAS — Producers of the “Blues Brothers Revival” are in talks to bring the Chi-based show to the Las Vegas Strip.

John Stuart, founder and former CEO of On Stage Entertainment, which produced “Legends in Concert,” and Victor Pisano, husband of Judy Belushi, hope to have the show mounted by late summer.

“We hope to bring it here to Las Vegas within the next four or five months,” said Stuart, who currently helms and produces “Ovation” at the Aladdin.

The John Belushi estate, Judy Belushi Pisano (John’s widow) and Dan Aykroyd own the property. Pisano, who wrote the tuner’s book, created “Blues Brothers” for the stage and is the show’s director. Stuart was brought on board as the production’s associate producer and co-director.

“Blues Brothers Revival” employs a seven-piece orchestra and seven actors. The musical is in previews at Chicago’s Center for the Performing Arts with a premiere skedded for April 20 (Daily Variety, Feb. 6).
