'Second Hand' thesp gets second chance at WB

Martha Plimpton has ankled Woody Allen’s Off Broadway play “A Second Hand Memory” and will be replaced by Elizabeth Marvel.

Plimpton recently finished shooting a guest appearance on “7th Heaven,” and there is buzz that she’s leaving the Allen play to pursue a closer affiliation with the WB drama. A spokesman for the skein confirmed that there is a good chance Plimpton will write at least one episode but could not confirm that she will appear on the show in the future.

Marvel has received excellent reviews for her title role in New York Theater Workshop’s new production of “Hedda Gabler.”

Beth Fowler will fill the one role in “Memory” that had not yet been cast. Fowler received a Tony Award nomination for her role as Peter Allen’s mother in “The Boy From Oz.”

The world premiere of “Memory,” written and directed by Allen, begins previews at the Atlantic Theater Company on Nov. 3. Allen has not revealed anything about the play except that it is set in Brooklyn in the 1950s.
