007 parody sells well
The $25 million Gallic James Bond-esque parody “Double Zero” has sold to more than a dozen territories in the first few days of Cannes.
Pic produced by Thomas Langmann’s La Petite Reine and distributed by Warner Bros. France is being sold jointly by Jacques Eric Strauss and Raphael Berdugo of Roissy Films.
Sales were sealed with territories including Russia, Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey, Portugal and Thailand.
Pic helmed by Gerald Pires, director of the first “Taxi,” stars Gallic comedy duo Eric and Ramzy as hapless spies.
Warner Bros. will give the pic a wide release in France on 700 screens in mid-June.
