Deal continues 'a faithful and harmonious relationship'

BERLIN — Warner Bros. Pictures Germany has extended its partnership with Berlin-based producer X Filme and its distribution arm X Verleih in a long-term agreement that includes distribution of up to 20 pics.

Deal, announced Tuesday by Willi Geike, VP and managing director at Warner Bros. Pictures Germany, extends the association with X Filme that began in 2001 with Connie Walther’s “Never Mind the Wall” and continued with last year’s biggest local hit, “Good Bye, Lenin!” from Wolfgang Becker.

X Verleih topper Manuela Stehr described the partnership with Geike and Warners as “not only successful, but also a faithful and harmonious relationship.”

X Verleih and Warners’ upcoming releases include Mennan Yapo’s “Lautlos,” about a professional killer who falls in love. Pic was produced by Arndt and X Filme’s Tom Tykwer.
