Thesps share ‘Secret’

Robbins, Christie on board for drama

Tim Robbins and Julie Christie have joined Sarah Polley in El Deseo’s English-lingo production “The Secret Life of Words,” from Spanish helmer Isabel Coixet.

Spanish thesps Javier Camara and Leonor Watling also are in the cast. Both starred in Almodovar’s Oscar-winning “Talk to Her” and in “Bad Education.”

“Secret Life” follows a female survivor of the Yugoslavian war in a world of men on an oil rig. It is skedded to shoot in November in Ireland.

Talks are under way with an Irish production company to come in as a co-producer or provide production services.

El Deseo, founded by Pedro Almodovar and his producer-brother Agustin, produced Coixet’s “My Life Without Me.”
