Fiennes, Wilson join Posin-helmed kidnapping pic
NEW YORK — Ralph Fiennes and Rita Wilson will star in an untitled project that is being financed by El Camino Pictures, the film financing company formed by Bob Yari in alliance with William Morris Independent.Story concerns an alienated high school student who reluctantly responds to the kidnapping of a fellow student because the adults in his suburban town are too self-absorbed to notice. Yari is exec producing. Lawrence Bender and Bonnie Curtis are producing the pic, which began shooting last week. Confirmed cast members include Carrie-Anne Moss and Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot”). Zac Stanford wrote the script based on a story by Stanford and Arie Posin, who is making his feature directing debut. DreamWorks, along with Newmarket Films, is in negotiations to distribute the film. El Camino was formed last May as a partnership between Yari and William Morris Independent’s Cassian Elwes and Rena Ronson. Most recently the company financed “Haven,” with Orlando Bloom and Bill Paxton, and “A Love Song for Bobby Long,” starring John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson. Latter will be distributed by Screen Gems.
