Up-and-coming thesp Max Riemelt, star of Dennis Gansel’s WWII drama “Napola,” has been named Germany’s Shooting Star of 2005.
Riemelt will join 20 other young Shooting Stars at a special ceremony at the Berlin Film Festival Feb. 13.
The 20-year-old actor has won critical acclaim for his turn as a cadet at Napola, an elite Nazi school for gifted boys. Riemelt also starred in Gansel’s 2001 teen comedy “Girls on Top” as well as “Girls on Top 2.”
Each year promotional org German Films selects Germany’s Shooting Star. The Shooting Stars program helps young actors by boosting their recognition beyond national borders.
