Terra Firma lands Cahan

Graduate signs for scribe duties with Fox, U

Fresh from graduating from the Disney Fellowship program, Jordan Cahan has landed two screenwriting jobs with Adam Herz production shingle Terra Firma Films. Cahan will pen a comedy for Fox and follow with a blind script deal from Terra Firma’s home studio, Universal.

The pics will be produced by Herz and Terra Firma co-presidents Greg Lessans and Josh Shader.

Herz got the production deal at U after his work on the “American Pie” franchise. Cahan fit perfectly into the company’s philosophy, which is to self-generate ideas and then match them to screenwriters. Herz, who is himself prepping an original comedy idea that he’ll direct at U with producer Marc Platt, sparked to Cahan’s potential.

“Jordan’s writing is ludicrously funny yet stays grounded in reality,” Herz said.
