Telluride gets AMPAS coin

First major fest to benefit

The Telluride Film Festival will receive a total of $150,000 from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences over the next three years.

Telluride is the first major U.S. festival to benefit from an expansion of fest funding by the Academy Foundation.

Telluride has received grants from the Academy in 1999 (when the fest funds foundation was established), 2001 and 2003.

A second and third film fest will be selected within the next two years.
