Gambler story stars Liotta, Statham

Guy Ritchie has reloaded “Revolver.”

Ray Liotta and Jason Statham are on board to star in the action drama, which Ritchie abandoned a year ago in favor of directing a studio film at Columbia Pictures, “Six Shooter.” However, that film wound up being a nonstarter.

“Revolver,” which is produced by Luc Besson and Marty Katz, is now in production in London and the Isle of Man. It’s the story of a hotshot gambler who becomes tangled in a game with deadly consequences.

EuropaCorp and Ska Films produce. Ritchie wrote the script with Ethan Gross and Paul Todisco. It’s the first since the director’s “Swept Away” in 2002.

Ray Liotta will topline “Criminal Behavior,” a pilot from exec producer Shane Salerno, for NBC. He also guests on an upcoming episode of “ER.”

Statham recently wrapped “The Transporter 2″ and stars opposite Ryan Phillippe in “Chaos.”
