Miramax shares with IEG and Kathy Morgan Intl.
CALCUTTA – PVR Pictures, film distribution arm of the Priya Village Roadshow group, has struck deals with Kathy Morgan Intl. and Initial Entertainment Group (IEG). Priya already has an association with Miramax.
PVR Pictures, which released six films in 2003 including “Chicago” and “Kill Bill,” plans to increase its slate to a dozen films for 2004. Whereas last year’s releases were mainly from Miramax, this year Priya will release five IEG titles and one from Kathy Morgan.
“Kill Bill Vol. 1” has performed well for the distrib, grossing more than $200,000 and playing all the major cities.
“Kill Bill Vol. 2” will be released in India by PVR around June, with a bigger release of 30-35 prints.
Other Miramax titles for 2004 are “Neverland,” “Ella Enchanted,” “Bad Santa” and “Scary Movie 3.”
IEG titles include Leonardo DiCaprio starrer “Aviator,” “Accidental Husband” and “Rose and the Snake” as well as “Laws of Attraction” and “Unfinished Line.”
From Kathy Morgan, PVR will release the “The Butterfly Effect” with Aston Kutcher.
