Bell to pen script about parenting
Looking to turn Matthew McConaughey loose in another comic vehicle, Paramount Pictures has bought the pitch “Dirty Little Secret” as a star vehicle for the actor.Elisa Bell will write the script for a film that explores the absurdity of parenting. Loosely inspired by the Julie Tilsner book “Attack of the Toddlers,” “Dirty Little Secret” looks at the lives of a hip, successful couple overwhelmed by the arrival of their first child. Tensions build between them as they leave high society to enter the world of baby-proofers, nannies and preschool waiting lists. “Dirty Little Secret” will be produced by McConaughey and his j.k. livin partner Gus Gustawes, along with Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar. Mark Gustawes is co-producer, and Damien Saccani is exec producer. The WMA-repped Bell scripted “Little Black Book,” the Revolution comedy which recently wrapped with Brittany Murphy, and “Sleepover,” the MGM comedy. McConaughey last starred for Par in the romantic comedy hit “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” McConaughey and his j.k. livin banner are working with Par and Crusader Entertainment to prep his next star vehicle, “Sahara,” which goes into production next month. He will topline the Clive Cussler bestseller early this year, with the studio and Crusader hoping to spawn a franchise from the Cussler book series.
