Moore pic fires up crowds at screenings

“Fahrenheit 9/11” turned up the heat in its first public showings here May 17.

The audience at the afternoon official screening gave the pic a 20-minute standing ovation; earlier screenings for the allegedly jaded press also were enthusiastically received. At all the screenings, the pic was interrupted with applause at key moments.

After the Palais screening, Michael Moore received rock-star adulation from the crowd as he descended the red carpet.
