AMSTERDAM — Nordisk Film has begun shooting “Karen Blixen: Out of This World,” a doc about the Danish author of “Out of Africa.”

The pic will include never-before-seen footage of Blixen’s compound in Kenya, and interviews with family and friends.

“Out of Africa” won several Academy Awards including 1985’s best pic, “Babette’s Feast” won the foreign-language Oscar two years later.

Doc will wrap shooting in February and bow on Danish pubcaster Danmarks Radio in fall 2005. DR is handling international sales.

Marcus Mandal, exec producer and a co-director of the pic with Anna Von Lowzow, said pic is aimed at an international audience. It is in English, with some dialogue in Danish and Swahili.

Blixen (1885-1962) was a coffee farmer in Africa from 1914 to 1931.
